Woman in a Box, 2014, wood, light and photos 

 

The work is part of a body of works that invents un-invented pre-cinema machines.

Woman in a Box is a kind of horizontal zoetrope, as opposed to the zoetrope which moves the image to create the illusion of motion, here it is the viewer who must move, to see the motion.

The viewer must evade the work, to pass it by, in order to meet it.
